The Points Redemption feature allows your customers to exchange the points or stamps they have collected for specific rewards or incentives at your business. This is a powerful tool to increase customer loyalty and engagement by giving tangible value to the points they earn.
For example, a customer who has collected 10 points could redeem them for a free cup of coffee.
1. Eligibility: Which Cards Can Use Points Redemption?
This feature is not available for all card types. Points Redemption is specifically designed for cards that collect stamps but do not automatically issue rewards during the collection process.
The following card designs are eligible for Points Redemption:
- Loyalty Cards: These cards can collect stamps, but do not automatically issue rewards during stamping.
- Tiered Loyalty Cards: These cards can collect stamps, but do not automatically issue rewards during stamping.
- Membership Cards: Standard membership cards that track points.
Note: Cards that already have built-in rewards configured (e.g., "Buy 5 coffees, get 1 free" as a rule) are not eligible for this manual redemption feature.
2. How to Configure Redemption Rules
Before you can redeem points for a client, you must define the rules for how points are exchanged for rewards.
- Navigate to the main menu and select Business.
- Click on Points Redemption.
- On this page, you will see a list of your existing rules. From here, you can:
- Create a new rule.
- Edit an existing rule.
- Delete a rule you no longer use.
Creating/Editing a Redemption Rule
On the Redemption Rule Edit page, you will need to configure the following details:
- Points: Enter the number of points/stamps required for this specific reward (e.g.,
10).
- Number of Rewards: Enter the quantity of items the customer receives for the points. For example, if you want to offer 10 points for 3 lipsticks, you would enter
3 in this field.
- Reward Description: Enter a clear description of what the customer receives. This text will help your staff during the transaction (e.g., "A cup of coffee," "Lipstick").
Tip: Create multiple rules if you offer different rewards at different point thresholds.
3. How to Redeem Points for a Client
Once your rules are set up, your staff can redeem points directly from the customer's card page.
Follow these steps to process a redemption:
- Scan the Client's Card: Use your scanner or manually enter the card details to bring up the customer's profile.
- Go to the Stamp and Reward Page: This is the main page displaying the customer's current points/stamps balance.
- Access the Redemption Menu: Look for the "More" button ( ⋮ ) located in the top-right corner of the page. Click it.
- Select "Redeem Points": From the dropdown menu, choose the "Redeem Points" option.
- Choose a Rule: A "Redeem Points" pop-up window will appear. This window will display all available redemption rules that match your client's current point balance. Select the appropriate rule (e.g., "10 Points - Lipstick").
- Confirm the Transaction: Review the details and click confirm.
What Happens After Confirmation?
Once you confirm the redemption:
- The required number of points/stamps will be deducted from the client's balance.
- The reward is granted to the client.
- The transaction will be recorded in the report.
When a user redeems their points for a reward, the reduction in their point balance will not downgrade their existing tier.
For example, if a customer is in a "Gold" tier requiring 100 points, and they redeem 30 points (dropping their balance to 70), they will remain in the "Gold" tier. Tier status is not affected by manual redemptions.
