

Nearby Notifications is a basic feature of the VeeCard loyalty program that helps you reconnect with your customers in real-time. It sends a push notification to a client's mobile device when they come within a given proximity of your merchant shop. This is an excellent way to drive foot traffic and remind customers to visit you.
By default, the notification simply displays the issuer name of the card. However, this feature allows you to customize the message to say something more engaging — such as a special offer, a warm greeting, or a call to action — instead of just the issuer name. This helps you create a more personalized experience and stand out to your customers.
For example, when a client with your loyalty card passes near your store, their phone will automatically display a message like: "Welcome to visit VeeCoffee".
Important: Customizing the nearby notification message is only supported on iPhones (Apple Wallet). For Android phones (Google Wallet), Google Loyalty cards do support nearby notifications, but the notification text is automatically generated by Google Wallet and cannot be customized.
Nearby Notifications can be applied to all published card designs. If a client has been issued a card that is active and published, they are eligible to receive these location-based notifications.
You can customize the notification message for different customer segments by applying different strategies to different card types.
On the Nearby Notification Edit page, you will need to configure the following details:
Note: Changes to a notification message will only be pushed to a customer's digital wallet after their next successful visit to your shop (e.g., when they receive a stamp or points update). Until then, their wallet will continue to display the previous message.
If you delete a customized nearby notification from a published card, or if a card type does not have a specific rule assigned, the system will use a default nearby notification:
The issuer name of the card.
For example, if your card is named "VeeCoffee Rewards Card," the default notification will simply say: "VeeCoffee Rewards Card."
Once configured, the process is fully automated and requires no action from your staff.
It is important to note that we respect the client's privacy and control over their device.
We recommend informing your customers about the benefits of this feature during sign-up to encourage them to keep it enabled.
